I've decoupled my LiveJournal feed from my boy-mode Facebook account and, instead, fed it into a Yahoo! Pipes, along with Through the Shutter: The Blog of Stopped Motion Photography, Miss Violet DeVille, my StoppedMotion Twitter Feed, and this LJ account into one mega RSS feed.

You may have noticed a couple of other changes in the profile here on LiveJournal and there are still more changes to come. Especially I start moving closer to my transition date of 3/31/2012.

Thanks for sharing the ride with me. I appreciate it.

Oh, and I'm taking suggestions for a new LJ user name. Do you have any suggestions?

The poll is now closed and, in one instance, the tie breaker had to be called in. (The tie breaker normally breaks things like kneecaps but was restrained, if somewhat disappointed, and only broke the tie.

I am producing some desktop wall papers and would like your opinions on which ones I should do. The one with the most votes from each grouping will become wallpaper in this round. If there's a tie, I will find some person and have them be a tie breaker. Probably my daughter. :D Poll and thumbnails behind the cut! )

A very enjoyable evening. Not only did [livejournal.com profile] nathan_fhtagn, [livejournal.com profile] grx, and the rest the quartet deliver some amazing sound, they did so in spades! Sadly, they don't have anything recorded yet, but I did beg for it be recorded soon. Those of you who did not make it to the show, you missed some amazing music!

The state of California requires that any artwork sold be accompanied by a "Certificate of Authenticity". This is primarily a step to help protect consumers and was the reason I didn't have anything at the BayCon Art Show this year.

But no more!

In fact, with plenty of time to spare for World Con, I now have a system for tracking certificates with regards to size and format. The system will even generate the certificates and print them to 4x6 photo stock with a thumbnail of the image in question.

The platform that this was built on? Microsoft Excel.

I is smart. ;)

I'm not sure how many are aware of this, but I have DeviantArt.com account for photography and I though I would share.

Take a look and tell me what you think. :)

I am putting together a mailing list of men and women who are interested in doing modeling work for me on a variety of projects. I will periodically send out a call for models to this list as a project need arises. Most of these opportunities will be unpaid and of the "time for photos" variety, meaning that in exchange for modeling for me, I will give you your choice of a copy of the session's photos on a PhotoDisc (assuming my contract with the client permits this) or I will do a 1 hour photography session for you, your choice of subject, and give you a PhotoDisc of the finished photos from that shoot.

If you wish to be included in this list, please send an e-mail to rory@stopped-motion.com or comment here with an e-mail address. If you have a headshot of yourself, please include it for reference.

Comments will be screened.

Volume 16 of Edge of Propinquity has been published! They say that April showers bring May flowers. This month, April brings the return of many unexpected things: The dead back to life, the awaking of memory, the loss of humanity and will as well as unhappy realizations. Each story has an action and its consequence and April showers will not bring anyone flowers for the foreseeable future.

Gemma Saunders is a grief counselor who has been reluctantly pulled into the world just hidden behind the fa├žade of normalcy. She tries to do the right thing by helping the dead rest and the bereaved grieve. However, those who grieve never listen and that leaves her with the restless dead to contend with.

...and I have taken 1,784 photos or 892 a day. Well, day one was 813 and day two 971. It sounds like we're not actually getting a full rehearsal today, so today will likely fall short of that number. And the last day, the closing day of the show is always less because of limited mobility in the auditorium and stage.

When I shoot a show, I am all over the place. "That scene would look awesome! Crap, I need to be on the otherside for the shot!"

I think the latest batch of photos have loaded into Photoshop. I work on photos in batches of roughly a hundred at a shoot and then do a lot of batch processing on them first after weeding out the ones I don't want to keep.

"The Bitter Rose" the story "Of Blood and Honey" by Stina Leicht ([livejournal.com profile] stinabat) for this month's issue of the Edge of Propinquity. Photograph was taken at the Woodinville Memorial Mead Cemetery in Woodinville, Washington.
