Last night, someone was fixating on wands, and the length that wand, of a particular fictional character's wand. He would not shut up about it.
I give to you Alvis' Fine Wands. I have a 13.5 inch wand made from cherry wood with a core made from a wendigo fang.

What began Saturday morning...
...we are continuing today. And that is me reading Harry Potter and Deathly Hallows to gypsiequeen and kids. We read the first two chapters Saturday morning at about 1am. The Girly Girl passed out in the recliner and today, we started about 1pm. It's slower reading it outloud, but we've been making good time. We've covered the first 10 chapters before stopping to eat dinner. We're going to be picking up right where we left off here in about 15 minutes.
