What's Amber doing these days?

This weekend I am enjoying the weekend "off" for a change. No shoots. No shows. I can put off planning for shows. Nothing I need to do. It will be grand and glorious. I just need to pack for Westercon and relax.

Right. Like that'll happen.

Here's what I'm doing over the next four weeks.

6/29 to 7/6 – The Girly Girl and I will be riding down with Bobbie DuFault (a.k.a. [livejournal.com profile] saphyre_blue) and company for Westercon in San Jose. We'll be arriving on the 30th and leaving on the 5th.

7/8 – I will be performing, as the Timeless Trollop of the Gaslight District: Miss Violet DeVille, at the Little Red Studio's Speakeasy. It'll be my "Just Before My Burlesque Birthday Show".

7/9 – Back in March, I made a promise to a little girl that since we missed the all-ages Abney Park show in Spokane--It Came From The Backstage Door was the same evening--that I would take her to the next all-ages show Abney Park show in Seattle. This is that promise fulfilled. I actually had to turn down to opportunities to perform and I love performing. Yep, promises are that important and we will have a grand time, this little airship pirate and Madame DeVille.

Is it me or does [livejournal.com profile] daniel_ap is about to clock [livejournal.com profile] nathan_fhtagn with his bass in that flyer? "Pst! Nathaniel! There is this huge bug in your hair falls! Hold still, I'll get it for you." :)

7/14 and 7/16 – This one has me really excited. Women at Work is the first show, on two nights no less, for Sass Boom Bang Burlesque!, the burlesque troupe that grew out the spring Burlesque 101 class at Miss Indigo Blue's Academy of Burlesque. I am very honored to work with these talented and lovely ladies.

7/15 – The latest issue of Edge of Propinquity goes live and I'll have two new pieces of art up for that.

7/16 – I'll be at MedFest, one of the big belly dancing festivals out here, before things get performance crazy that night. My goal is to shop a little and root on my brothers and sisters in dance from Off the Cuff tribal, the advanced students of ucanto Belly Dance.

7/17 – I'll be back at MedFest with the Girly Girl in tow this time--she doesn't know she's not going on the 16th—and I'll be belly dancing with all of the students of ucanto. It'll be grand and glorious. Hopefully I won't dance out of my costume this time. That's always embarrassing.

7/23 – Not only do I perform, but I also produce shows as well. Stars and Garters is tribute to all things Americana. I'm highlighting rockabilly in the piece I'm developing for the show. I really should start the costuming work for this.

7/29 to 8/1 – The current plan is to go camping. Sequins, sadly, aren't terribly practical in the woods of the Olympic Peninsula.

August is a little slower, but I'll talk about that one later.
