Geek warning!
Here’s couple of geek like things for this afternoon...
Amazon.com has the Star Wars DVD box set, 4 discs like the Indiana Jones box set, available for pre-order. On that page, for the truly geeky, they also have a link to the THX 1138 Special Edition DVD as well.
Did I mention what was on my list for my birthday this year? Never mind that my birthday falls 8 days later...
On the more mundane side of things,
gypsiequeen found “Homemade Chocolate Chip Cookies for Dummies” today at Wal-Mart.
No, I’m serious. We even have the pictures to prove it!
Because we’re total geeks and it seems like this is just another example of good marketing gone horribly wrong,
gypsiequeen bought a bag. The instructions are drop dead simple. So simple, in fact, a dummy could do it. At least there’s some truth in advertising.
Following the directions produced cookie dough that was, in the opinion of this food eater, sub par. The dough was thin and lacked something in the taste department. The less demanding consumer, my son, licked the dough bowl clean. So at least it passes the mustard of the pre-teen market.
We spent about 10 minutes or so actually preparing the bowl of dough, which is what the package suggested and it cooked in 9 minutes. They turned a nice golden brown and thinned out nicely, but not too thin. Which, given the consistency of the dough, was better than I expected. They don’t taste too bad, either. Nothing near the Nestle Toll House recipe, but not bad.
