Copyright The commanding burlesque showdown is back! We have all heard the impassioned, and sometimes very heated, arguments in geek circles. Who is the better captain; is it James T. Kirk or Jean Luc Picard? What about other captains found in television, books, and movies? We have ten captains to put to the test and we aim to settle that little score. And then some with your help. Who will you promote to commodore?

“Watch and learn, kids.” – Unknown

Captain Royale: The Commanding Burlesque Show Down returns on January 3rd at the Re-Bar. 10 captains go in, 1 comes out. You choose.

Taxes this year are due on Monday, April 15th. We know a lot of you may be working late the weekend before to get them all done and in on time. We appreciate that. So after you’ve finished carrying the one and referencing table A on document 1086, we think you should reward yourself with a little shimmy, some bump and grind, and some of Seattle’s amazing burlesque performers. We’ll even start later for you. On Saturday, April 13th, we'll be staying late for Sunday's Early Edition of the Belltown Burlesque Revue. Some may call it a late show, starting at 11:00 pm and doors opening at 10:30 pm, we consider this the extra early Sunday Morning Edition. Either way, it'll be an amazing way to enter into the new week.

CopyrightAs the reality storm comes to a head seek refuge at Worlds' End and stay for the stories

Join us for an extravaganza of clever and sassy homage to the many worlds of Neil Gaiman, a prolific writer with notable works spanning comic books, novels, children's books and stories, television series, and film. With genres ranging from fantasy to science fiction and the occasional epic children's tale, the stories you'll see are quite diverse.

The tales involve a goddess, Beldam and her doll, the heart of a blue box, a young woman who is far older than she appears, an enslaved faerie, the very essence of dreams personified, and more.

Performing for you on these June nights are Ms. Vixen Valentine, Kendra Hayes, Candy Apples, Miss Violet DeVille, Ivy DuPri, Czech Mate, Miss Penelope Rose, Morgue Anne, Stella Vaughn, Lana Milk-n-Honey, and Pacific Syren. Lilith von Fraumench will help us navigate the troubled skies and find safe haven.

Have you heard the saying that "less is more"?

I've heard it too and I think it's bunk.

More is MORE.

The Academy of Burlesque Alumni think so too.

Today, the lovely Miss Candy Apples and I rehearsed our duet in the next Alumni show. We're certain that you're going to love it and every other act too.

Walt Disney once said, "Always leave them wanting more."

The Academy of Burlesque brings you "MORE THE MERRIER!" An evening of burlesque about plenty and abundance, featuring duets & groups!

With performances by:

With our very special guest Sydni Deveraux!

All of this and MORE is hosted by the wonderful Gams Galore!

The show is this Saturday, January 26th, 2013!

The doors open at 8:30pm and the show begins at 9pm.

Tickets for the show are...

At the Oddfellows Building, 2nd Floor, West Hall

"Nerds, like us, are allowed to be unironically enthusiastic about stuff. Nerds are allowed to love stuff, like, jump-up-and-down-and-strip-off-your-clothes-can't-control-yourself love it. When people call people nerds, mostly what they're saying is 'You like stuff.' Which is not a good insult at all. Like, 'You are too enthusiastic about the miracle of human consciousness.'"

- John Green said something like this. Sort of. We think the boobies are an added bonus.

NERDZ!

Epic. That's really all we can say to describe this evening of nerdy burlesque by some of the nerdiest performers around. Fantasy action and video games, Muppets and classic science fiction movies are just the tip of the iceberg of the nerdy topics that we have up our collective gloves.

Leading us in this romp is one of our favorite nerds, Violet Wilde. She'll be leading this team of explorers, celebrants, and geeks, in all things nerdy.

This is one epic evening.

In fact, the evening is so epic we're doing twice the nerdiness over two days! First on Saturday, September 22nd, where doors open at 6:30 pm and the show is at 7:00! Then, then on Sunday, September 23rd, is an encore performance on at 6:30 pm and the doors open at 6:00 pm!

But wait, there's more! The truly fantastic gaming store Card Kingdom is joining the fun and they've assembled a prize package that only be described as amazeballs and we'll be giving one away each night as a part of our raffle. Surely, you're not going to want to miss out on this!

Tickets are $18 at the door and $15 through Brown Paper Tickets.
