A few years ago, the Pope made a speach where he said that feeding tubes were not an extreme medical measure and should be used to sustain human life. He equated not using a feeding tube with euthinasia by ommission. Please note that this has not been made church doctrine yet in the form of a papal paper, but to quote Bill Cosby, "The Pope says you gotta do it!"

The Pope is an elected figured with in the church and retains the position for life.

With the Pope's health failing could lapse into a vegatative state, like a coma, kept alive with the feeding tube he already has.

Here's where it gets giggly for me. The Pope is the Pope for life, meaning until he dies, and if he's in a coma, he's still alive, which means the church is essentially with out a Pope until he passes away.

Yes, I know, this situation is Pope-less.
