I have to keeping telling myself that Obama will disappoint me.

Because he will, he is human and imperfect. It's the nature of life.

Though it's hard to remind myself when I see the things he has on his agenda. Things like the economy, the two wars we are fighting, energy and the environment, and civil rights. His civil rights agenda which covers many issues that I believe in very, very strongly.

I think you're confused. Pandora's last gift was anything but shiny. In fact, it round, brown, hard, and smelled bad--wait, you're not talking about my cat, are you? ;)

I think it's actually good that you're keeping that in mind.

It's much too easy (and likely) for blinding hope, when faced with disappointment, to turn to blinding desperation... and at the point that happens, I fear the direction our country will turn.

I _know_ Obama won't be able to deliver on everything he promissed - that's just the way of politics. I will only be dissappointed with him if he doesn't even try, or caves too quickly to opposition as Clinton did.
