RustyCon 25, the basic con report...

I say basic because there will be a couple of variations based on the filters and this is of the "no filter" variety.

sylvan and I went to RustyCon 25 over the weekend and I had a very enjoyable time. I affectionately refer to Rusty as my "VacationCon" because I don't work it. It's a much smaller con with its 300-400 members than Norwescon, which was roughly 3000 people last year. Unfortunately, I missed the cut off to show in the artshow. I need to correct that next year.

It seems like saphyre_blue, acting bid chair for WorldCon in Seattle, 2011, is beginning to get momentum under her feet. The vote for 2011 is not until WorldCon 2009. The theme for next WorldCon has been set: "Return to the Emerald City". The only problem is that it's missing a crucial component, the Steam Punk element. That's right, the theme is steam punk oriented and should be pretty cool.

Again, I had a lot of fun at the small can and will likely do it again. :)

You seem to have strong opinions about this. Did you think that Cascadia Con didn't go so well? I missedd that one, so I have no personal experience with it.
